In this one-day primer on the basic operation of drones, participants will gain the necessary knowledge to safely operate a small drone and learn techniques to capture compelling aerial photographs and videos.
Not only are drones extremely fun to fly, drone photography and videography is increasingly used to create dynamic content for websites, social media and commercial applications. The use of drone imagery is used in a great many applications such as real estate listings, utilities inspections, traffic monitoring, environmental protection, agriculture, surveying and mapping, forest fire detection, news reporting, and are commonly used in the motion picture industry. Filming and photographing sporting events, wildlife, festivals, and weddings can be great fun and very lucrative business opportunities.
If you have been wanting to get started with drone photography, then this introductory course is for you! Instructor Andrew Shaw will share his extensive experience with drones to get you on your way. Andrew will teach you the basis operation and flight theory needed to safely and effectively operate a drone. With hands on demonstration and practice, you will learn the basics of capturing dynamic photos and videos with your remote-controlled aerial vehicle.
Flight operation would establish basic control of the drone (up, down, left, right) around a set course. Students will learn the ability to control the drove as per specific directions from the instructor with the drone facing towards and away from the operator. For safety reasons, practice will be limited to flights of no more than 100 feet high and within 100 feet distance of the operator. NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE OR CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED FOR THIS CLASS.
